The original Nawaikama Community Hall was built decades ago through the collective efforts of our elders and local families. It has long stood as a central place for village gatherings, celebrations, church events, traditional ceremonies, and community decision-making. Over the years, the hall has also served as a shelter during storms and an emergency meeting point during times of need.
However, after many years of use and exposure to the elements, the building has significantly deteriorated. Its structure no longer meets safety standards, and it can no longer comfortably or securely accommodate the community. Repairs have been attempted over time, but the building has reached a stage where a full rebuild is necessary to ensure the safety and future of our village gatherings.
This project to build a new, secure community hall honors the legacy of the original while preparing a strong, modern space for future generations.
"Our mission is to rebuild a safe, modern, and inclusive community hall for the people of Nawaikama. The old hall has served us well, but it’s outdated and no longer meets the needs of our growing and changing community. This new hall will be a strong, welcoming space where everyone can come together for meetings, celebrations, emergencies, and more. It's about creating a lasting place that brings people together and supports the future of our village."
